General Supervisor, Zafaran Museum , Former Dean, Faculty of Archaeology Ain Shams University, Former Minister of Antiquities 

Prof. Dr. El-Damaty is one of Egypt's foremost Egyptologists, holding a PhD from the University of Trier, Germany. He served as Director-General of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo (2001–2004) and as Minister of Antiquities in the Ibrahim Mehleb government. He was awarded the Knight Order by the President of Italy in 2004 and served as President of the Regional Organisation of Arab Museums (ICOM-Arab). He played a founding role in establishing the Faculty of Archaeology at Ain Shams University and has personally supervised the Zafaran Museum project since 2022, overseeing its museological concept and display scenarios. He leads an active archaeological mission at Ain Shams/Heliopolis and has published extensively on ancient Egyptian art and Egyptology.

أ.د. ممدوح الدماطي عالم مصريات بارز، حاصل على الدكتوراه من جامعة ترير الألمانية، شغل منصب مدير عام المتحف المصري بالقاهرة (2001–2004) ووزيراً للآثار في حكومة إبراهيم محلب، ونال وسام الفارس من رئيس جمهورية إيطاليا عام 2004. تولّى رئاسة المنظمة الإقليمية للمتاحف العربية (ICOM-arab)، وأسهم في تأسيس كلية الآثار بجامعة عين شمس، ويُشرف منذ عام 2022 على مشروع متحف الزعفران متحفياً وعرضياً، ويقود بعثة أثرية نشطة بمنطقة عين شمس/عرب الحصن.
