Prof. Nagwa Badr is a Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University. She received her Ph.D. in Software Engineering and Distributed Systems from Liverpool John Moores University, UK, in 2003. She then pursued postdoctoral studies at the University of Glasgow, UK, until 2005. She is one of the founding members of the Bioinformatics postgraduate programs at Ain Shams University. She also leads the Strategy and Technology operations for the university’s digital transformation initiative, the University Management System (UMS) project. In this role, she has demonstrated a strong track record in identifying and resolving challenges to reduce costs and enhance productivity,Additionally, she serves as the team leader responsible for implementing the current bylaws of the credit-hour curriculum for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences. She plays an active role in the educational and quality assurance processes of these programs.

Her current research interests include Software Engineering, Big Data Analytics, Health Informatics, and Bioinformatics. Prof. Badr has been actively involved in numerous national and international research and educational projects. She has authored over 150 internationally indexed publications.
