Professor Hoda Kamal Soussa is a Professor of Water Resources Engineering and the Head of the Irrigation and Hydraulics Department at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University. She is also the Director of the Grants and Projects Office at Ain Shams University, Director and founder of the water quality lab, Director of the Center of Excellence for Water Research, and the first Director and founder of the Geographic Information Systems Unit at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University.

Professor Hoda is the Egyptian coordinator for several European Union-funded projects (TMIM, Mare Nostrum, CIRQUA, MAWEMA) and the representative of Ain Shams University in several international projects (NCGIS, WATEN). In Addition, she is a member of the Water and Irrigation Council within the specialized councils of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. She is also a member of the National Council for Women, Cairo branch in Egypt.

Professor Hoda is a certified consultant by the Engineers Syndicate in the field of flood protection. Additionally, she is a certified consultant by the Environmental Affairs Authority for water pollution dispersion modeling, as well as a member of the Egyptian Society of Engineers. She acts as the main supervisor of several master’s and doctoral theses in the field of water resources engineering and serves as the rapporteur of the Standing Committee for the Egyptian Code of Design Principles and Implementation Requirements for Rainwater and Flood Control Systems.

الدكتورة هدى كمال سوسة هي أستاذ هندسة الموارد المائية ورئيسة قسم الري والهيدروليكا بكلية الهندسة بجامعة عين شمس. وهي أيضًا مديرة مكتب المنح والمشاريع بجامعة عين شمس، ومديرة ومؤسسة مختبر جودة المياه، ومديرة مركز التميز لأبحاث المياه، وأول مديرة ومؤسسة لوحدة نظم المعلومات الجغرافية بكلية الهندسة بجامعة عين شمس.

أ.د. هدى هي المنسقة المصرية لعدة مشاريع ممولة من الاتحاد الأوروبي (TMIM، Mare Nostrum، CIRQUA، MAWEMA ) وممثلة جامعة عين شمس في عدة مشاريع دولية (NCGIS ، WATEN). بالإضافة إلى ذلك، هي عضو في مجلس المياه والري ضمن المجالس المتخصصة بأكاديمية البحث العلمي والتكنولوجيا. كما أنها عضو في المجلس القومي للمرأة، فرع القاهرة في مصر.

أ.د. هدى استشاري معتمد من نقابة المهندسين في مجال الحماية من الفيضانات. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، فهي استشاري معتمد من هيئة شؤون البيئة لنمذجة تشتت تلوث المياه، وكذلك عضو في الجمعية المصرية للمهندسين. وهي المشرفة الرئيسية على العديد من رسائل الماجستير والدكتوراه في مجال هندسة الموارد المائية، وهي مقرر اللجنة الدائمة للكود المصري لأسس تصميم واشتراطات تنفيذ أنظمة الامطار و السيول.
