
Currently appointed as Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University Vice Dean for Education and Students Affairs. Professor of Automotive Engineering served as Head of Automotive Engineering Department for 7 years from 2019 to 2026. As director of Autotronics research lab focusing on development of electric powered autonomous vehicles from automotive engineering performance to building a robust level 5 autonomous vehicles for both confined environments and unstructured environments. I received my PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering in Mechatronics from University of Illinois at Chicago in May 2007 that was funded by Caterpillar, Inc. to develop a steer-by-wire Electrohydraulic system for medium size wheel loaders. I continued to work for Caterpillar Product center of excellence at Peoria, IL as a senior mechatronics engineer developing virtual operators for preproduction testing and energy management systems till June 2012. In 2011, I established Ain Shams University Racing Team with the scope of participating in students international engineering competitions. The team usually participates in Formula Student UK where our best accomplishments was receiving the first overall rank for Electric formula student concept in 2023. The team also participates in Shell Eco focusing on building energy efficient cars. In 2018, I was granted to build an Egyptian electric vehicle rally, that focuses on capacity building of Egyptian universities undergraduates to build energy efficient urban vehicles for five seasons.
