Prof. Neven Asem

Prof. Dr. Neveen Asem is a Professor of Genetics and Biotechnology with over 27 years of experience as a Genetic Counselor. She is a recognized expert in genetic risk evaluation, genetic counseling, and research, with a strong record in academic leadership and international collaboration. She currently serves as Director of the Training and Development Center and CEO of the Innovation and Training Sector at Ain Shams University. Prof. Neveen has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles in molecular genetics, cytogenetics, and rare diseases, with key publications in Molecular Neurobiology, BMC Genomics, Human Genetics and the Journal of Molecular Neuroscience. She is also an active reviewer for leading journals, including the American Journal of Medical Genetics and Molecular Genetics and Genomic Medicine. Her recent roles include Co-Investigator in a national project on next-generation sequencing (2023–2025), Principal Investigator of Egypt’s university training initiative (2020–2023), and partner in major international projects under Erasmus+ CBHE and Queen Elizabeth II Scholarships addressing sustainable technologies and environmental resilience.
